From input to output

A nesting plan in three steps.

Each step has a clear set of checks. By the time you reach the results, your parts and stock settings are ready.

Parts

Add the drawing. Check the parts.

Open a new project and upload DXF, DWG or SVG files. Split a drawing into independent parts, or keep its components grouped.

  • Check units, cutting layers and part dimensions.
  • Set the required quantity for each part.
  • Adjust scale or remove an unwanted outer contour if needed.
  • Use a parametric shape or a CSV/XLSX list instead of a drawing file.

Sheets

Define your available stock.

Enter sheet width, height and available quantity. Choose saved dimensions from your library, or combine different stock sizes in the project.

  • Set the distance between parts.
  • Set the margin along the edge of the sheet.
  • Choose free rotation, 90°, 180° or no rotation for the project.

Nesting

Start the search. Review the result.

Choose a search budget between 5 and 120 seconds. Nestinit explores candidate layouts during that time and selects from independently validated results.

  • Compare placed and unplaced quantities.
  • Inspect each sheet and the occupied layout footprint.
  • Change stock, rotation or duration settings and run again if needed.
  • Download each sheet as DXF and check it in your production software.
